Three’s a charm.
Two fall sports teams, and one individual claimed Sectional Titles this past weekend.
On Friday, the girls swimming and diving team won the Section III Class B Championship, defeating second place Jamesville-Dewitt.
The girls competed in the State Qualifier on Sunday, and as a team, finished in second place behind Fayetteville-Manlius. Five girls have qualified for the State Championships, which will be held Nov. 22 & 23 at Ithaca College. Those girls are:
Lauren Kelly, CBA, 200 Medley Relay, 50 Freestyle, 100 Breaststroke, 400 Freestyle Relay; Darien Tompkins, CBA, 200 Medley Relay, 100 Butterfly, 400 Freestyle Relay; Kaitlyn Bushnell, CBA, 200 Medley Relay, 400 Freestyle Relay; Kayla Newman, CBA 200 Freestyle, 500 Freestyle, 400 Freestyle Relay; and Sophia Silver, CBA, 200 Medley Relay
For the first time since 1982, the boys cross country team won a Sectional Title. Members on the team include: Christian Balisteri, Casey Burke, Joel Gaffney, Kyle Gaffney, Cooper Groat, Mike McMahon, Zach Medicis, and Riley Nash. The boys will compete in the State Championship this weekend.
Individually, Olivia Morganti, won the Section III Class B Championship Cross Country race and qualified for the State Championship meet this weekend. Lea Kyle finished sixth and also qualified to represent CBA in the state meet. Overall, the girls finished in third place.

In all, this is the fourth team Sectional Title this fall for CBA. In October, the girls tennis team captured the program’s first-ever Sectional Title.
