Welcome Back!
September 6, 2024
Dear CBA Parents, Faculty, Staff, Alumni, and Friends,
Welcome back! This morning we opened our doors to greet our 752 students - officially commencing the 2024-2025 school year. We are proud of our tremendous legacy as we begin our 125th year of educating the young people of Central New York in the Lasallian tradition.
It is an extraordinary blessing to share in this wonderful mission with all of you! Each of you plays an integral role in ensuring the vibrancy of the Lasallian mission at CBA. We are all caretakers of the gift of Lasallian education and I look forward to sharing news, stories, and reflections through my LasallianLife email each Friday at 9:00 AM. My hope continues to be that LasallianLife connects our entire community, those near and far, by highlighting the impact of this beautiful mission.
Our students in Peer Ministry chose the theme for the upcoming year from Ecclesiastes, “A cord of three strands is not easily broken.” As we celebrate the 125th anniversary of the school, I find their choice to be extremely fitting for our community. Alone, we cannot achieve this mission. Lined up together, we are stronger. Yet, it is only when we are truly intertwined into a chord that we achieve our full strength. A cord results from each strand being intentionally close and purposefully woven together for its individual strength to be enhanced into the stoutness of a braid - all characteristics of our cherished tradition.
Affirming the strength of our “cord,” Niche.com once again ranked CBA Syracuse as the top Catholic High School in Upstate New York including Albany, Rochester, Buffalo and all of the areas in between. Our success is the result of each of our CBA students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends bringing their own gifts and talents and weaving them together through faith and a shared mission.
As we welcome back our students this morning, we also extend our welcome to each and every one of you! You are an essential part of our “cord” at CBA. May the upcoming school year continue to yield cords that cannot be broken - forming the hearts, minds and souls of each of our 752 students.
Welcome back and… Live Jesus in our hearts!
Sincerely,
Mr. Matthew Keough
