National Teacher Appreciation Week

May 6 - May 10 is National Teacher Appreciation Week!
This past week, we celebrated our Lasallian educators who share their gifts of faith and wisdom with the students who have been entrusted to their care. It is a celebration of our current teachers coalesced with reflections of gratitude for our past educators. For 124 years, our faculty and staff have committed themselves to our Lasallian mission that forms both the heart and the mind.
Today, I ask for your help in recognizing our Lasallian educators. Is there a teacher, coach, staff member, or administrator who positively impacted you or your child's life? If so, I invite you to send a "thank you," a story, or a simple "hello" by clicking "reply" to this email. Please include the name of the educator and the approximate year(s). Our advancement office will distribute your email to the current or former educator. Or, if the educator has passed, you have my commitment to be a guarantor of their story as part of our history and as an inspiration for our future Lasallians.
A recent document from the Institute called, The Declaration, describes the Lasallian educator:
"The teacher is not so much a schoolmaster instilling a set of teachings as an older brother or sister who helps them to be aware of what the Spirit is speaking within themselves, of what their own abilities are and, little by little, how they may discover their true place in the world."
To our graduates, former CBA parents, grandparents, and friends - thank you for helping us to recognize our Lasallian educators, past and present, who continually help young people discover "their true place in the world!"
