Introducing, the CBA Class of 2024!

This Sunday, at 11:00 AM, CBA will proudly celebrate 114 members of the CBA Class of 2024 as the newest graduates of Christian Brothers Academy! These graduates will travel to colleges and universities across New York State, throughout the United States, and even around the world!
The Gospel tells us the story of the disciples being sent out:
"Jesus summoned the Twelve and began to send them out two by two. He instructed them to take nothing for the journey but a walking stick—no food, no sack, no money in their belts."
While I have no misconceptions that our students will travel with no material possessions to college, this passage remains the perfect reminder that God has already blessed them with everything that they need for their journey.
A WELL FORMED MIND - This class is extremely well accomplished academically, averaging a 31.5 on the national ACT exam. If this class was a "state," they would have outperformed every state in the United States! If this class was a single student, they would have outperformed 96% of all the students in the United States who took the ACT exam!
A WELL FORMED HEART - The CBA Class of 2024 has also distinguished themselves through their extracurricular activities - learning the values of collaboration, perseverance, selflessness, determination, and sacrificing for the greater good.
CBA Class of 2024 Extracurricular Highlights:
- 11 League Championships
- 5 Team Sectional Championships
- 1 Individual Sectional Champions and/or represented CBA in NYSPHSAA Championship Competition
- 1 NYSPHSAA State Team Championship
A WELL FORMED SPIRIT - The CBA Class of 2024 also learned about recognizing the presence of God within themselves by developing their own gifts and talents. This yielded two Scholastic Art Award Winners, countless New York State School Music Association recognitions, and several distinctions in clubs such is Model United Nations, Science Olympiad, and Mock Trial.
Beyond themselves, they learned to recognize the presence of God in others - resulting in 4,524 hours of community of service during the 2023-2024 school year.
As a result of their tremendous success, the Class of 2024 received record breaking merit scholarships.
Number of Full Cost of Attendance (COA) Scholarships: 12
Total Merit Scholarship Dollars: $32, 578, 883
Total Number of Students who received a scholarship to the school they will be attending next year: 68 (60%)
Total Amount - Scholarship awards at Schools that students are attending: $7, 599, 192
Average Scholarship award at the schools students will be attending next year: $111, 752
On Sunday, we will send these students on "their journey" with tremendous confidence that they truly have all that they need - a well formed heart, mind, and spirit. As De La Salle said to one of the early Brothers, "May God continue what He has begun in you!" Congratulations to the CBA Class of 2024! I look forward to celebrating your amazing accomplishments throughout the weekend!
