Faculty and staff spent last Friday at Spiritual Retreat Day. The day was planned by Campus Ministry and the Lasallian Formation team.
Father Christopher Celentano, Pastor of St. Rose of Lima Church spoke about the importance of prayer, and the power of self-reflection and silence. Faculty and staff learned about the teachings of St. John Baptist de La Salle, participated in community building activities, and spent time in personal reflection and retreat.
Another highlight of the day was the distribution of “gag gifts” to each faculty and staff member. At the beginning of the year, faculty and staff filled out a questionnaire which covered a number of topics relating to their favorite sports teams, foods, vacation destinations and hobbies. The final question asked, “most people don’t know this about me.” David Roache and Caryl McGinty spent the last month gathering gag gifts to represent every faculty and staff member’s response, and handed each one out.
