CBA celebrated the Mass of the Holy Spirit on Wednesday and Thursday. The Mass, which was held in the Chapel, was streamed on the NFHS Network so that students could watch from their homerooms.
Seniors Jack Szatkowski and Kate Janczyk, co-leaders of Peer Ministry, introduced this year’s theme, “God Is Our Anchor, We Are Links of Love In The Chain.”
“Hope is a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul,” Szatkowski and Janczyk said. “It is important that our hope is anchored in God, who always keeps His promise to remain with us. We are called to be links of love, creating a strong community in which we will all grow to be the best version of ourselves. Linking our lives one to another here at Christian Brothers Academy will help us to be strong and to feel supported.”
Rev. Joseph Marina, SJ, Provost & Academic VP at Le Moyne College was the celebrant at Mass on Wednesday. Annie Toole was the altar server and Peer Ministers Rena Steel, Emma Vercillo, Emma Mulherin, and Maddie Savicki participated as readers.
On Thursday, Rev. Steve Surovick, SJ Assistant Director of Novices, St. Andrews’s Hall in Syracuse was the celebrant. Michael Berger was the altar server. Peer Ministers Kennedy Gregory, Jill Junio, Catherine Halstead and Brackton Bowler participated as readers.
Principal Debbie Brillante commissioned the seniors, and Brother Joseph Jozwiak, FSC, Special Advisor to the President, also spoke. Jessica Tumajyan played the violin at both Masses.
